We have moved rapidly into the era of the ethical consumer, a wave which will swamp those businesses that still think that the business of business is business.

CSR Best Practice
Companies such as Daimler Chrysler, Siemens, Henkel, Deutsche Bank, Novartis, IBM, Procter & Gamble and Lufthansa are already exemplary in the use CSR projects with employee participation. These companies have implemented appropriate CSR framework conditions, having recognised it as an important and complementary measure and also made it an additional component in their management development programmes.
Such companies give employees leave, for example to act as mentors in schools or create social projects in order to translate corporate values into concrete action and improve employees’ social competencies. A one-week social internship as an integral part of management development as well as work in social facilities are examples of how companies contribute to improving our society. CSR offers the chance to sustainably improve a company’s competitiveness and find solutions to social challenges.
